Hygiene & Airflow® Tooth Polishing (GBT)

In collaboration with universities and dentists, EMS has developed a clinical protocol designed to treat biofilm and maintain healthy teeth over time. This protocol, called Guided Biofilm Therapy, combines professional tooth cleaning at the dentist’s office with proper dental care practiced at home. There is no better way to keep harmful biofilm under control.

crowns

A crown is an artificial restoration that fits over the remaining part of a prepared tooth, making it strong and giving it the shape of a natural tooth.

dental implants

A dental implant is an artificial tooth that replicates the real thing with a titanium cylinder that is inserted into the jawbone. Over a few months, this fuses with the bone and will act as the new 'root' to which a crown or bridge is then attached. This means implants look, feel and function just like regular teeth.

composite bonding

Composite bonding is a minimally-invasive treatment to improve the shape and colour of the teeth. The procedure involves the application of a composite resin to a single tooth or multiple teeth in order to improve the appearance. The overall effect is up to you. Bonding can achieve anything from brilliant Hollywood-style smiles, to a more natural look that accentuates your natural quirks, or something in between.

dental veneers

Veneers comprise of a stain-resistant cover that is bonded to the front surface of the required tooth(or teeth) to help improve their cosmetic appearance. They can be used to treat a number of different cosmetic concerns, including chipped, broken, discoloured, or smaller-than-average teeth. Some people may only get one veneer in the case of a broken or chipped tooth, but many get between six to eight veneers in order to create an even, symmetrical smile. The top front eight teeth are the most commonly applied veneers.

It is normal to drill away a thin amount of tooth tissue away to fit the veneer well, we will always aim to keep this to the minimum amount .You are welcome to discuss this with the dentist during your consultation

Veneers are recognised for being a long-lasting and natural looking way of dramatically improving the appearance of your smile.

Although the process to prepare and fit your new veneers can take as little as 10 days, we spend a lot of time in your initial consultation assessing your facial form and features, taking x-rays, clinical photographs and studying models of your existing teeth. We then work closely with our laboratory technician in order to plan your new smile. When applying veneers, we use state-of-the-art digital planning and 3D design technology to design a look that’s perfect for you, this can often includes a diagnostic wax-up too.

This means that we are able to show you the final result in wax before treatment begins, this is a crucial communication tool that enables us to be clear about your expectations and your desired result. We advise patients with veneers to have regular professional cleaning to protect their investment and to ensure the lifespan of your veneers.

Taking care of your veneers should be as straightforward as looking after your natural teeth. Regularly brushing twice a day, flossing and keeping up with your routine appointments will ensure your smile looks and performs as it should in the long-term. Our hygienist team will give you all the bespoke advice you need to maintain your smile.

teeth whitening

All teeth whitening options attempt to improve the colour of teeth, removing stains and restoring them to lighter brighter hues. Many alternative teeth whitening DIY options are available, however these are not recommended as they often don’t work and are not always safe.

At Wanstead Dental we always suggest seeing a dentist for whitening treatment. Through effective teeth whitening, you will be able to restore and even heighten your confidence, which results in glowing smiles.
