Unlike traditional braces, Invisalign® clear braces are removable. We use software to make a series of bespoke aligners for you which are replaced every two or three weeks, as your teeth move closer to their new position.
It’s important that you wear the aligners consistently so they can work effectively. The fact that they are removable is convenient when you need to brush your teeth or eat, but you shouldn’t be tempted to take them out for lengthy periods.
The number of aligners you’ll need depends on how much work needs to be done to arrive at a solution that’s right for you. Once your treatment is finished you’ll need to use a removable retainer to keep your teeth in the correct position.
During your examination with the dentist we will take a 3D scan using our Trios Scanner, this will allow you to see the current position of your teeth and how we will be able to improve them with Invisalign®.
This is always a guideline to what can be achieved and the dentist will discuss the best options for you to achieve the results to improve your smile
Absolutely! Unlike braces which are best suited for those whose teeth are very out of place, Invisalign® is designed to make small, incremental changes to improve the overall appearance of the smile.
So, if you have had braces before and your teeth have moved back out of place, we might be able to help!
One of the biggest benefits to opting for Invisalign® is that they can be easily removed during eating, drinking and teeth brushing. We normally recommend having your hygiene treatment done more regularly as you might find there is more staining around your composite buttons. The dentist and hygienist will advise you about the best way to look after your teeth and gums during your treatment.
